Editing a Dashboard

Last updated 1 year ago

To enter the Dashboard Edit Mode, click on the 3-Dots menu at the top and select Edit in the popup.

When entering Edit mode for a Dashboard, the view will change similar to below. Available widget types will appear in the Navigation Pane. These widgets can be dragged onto the Dashboard, and any widgets currently on the Dashboard can be repositioned by dragging.

When in Edit Mode, clicking a widget on the dashboard no longer brings up the Notifications popup. Instead the widget's settings will appear and allow you to edit a widget and its associated tag.

Widget Types

To edit a widget

When in Edit Mode click on any area of the widget besides the trashcan icon and the below popup should appear. The display type can be changed with the dropdown at the top of this popup.

Here you can also change a few other things about the tag itself, such as the display name in the "Name" field.

Some of these settings will be grayed out, as they are not adjustable by users of InSite but site administrators can adjust them. If you see something that you think should be changed, please reach out with the chat bubble icon at the bottom right of the screen.

  • Default Widget

The default widget has 3 display types: Gauge, Status Light, and Text

  • Multi Tag Widget

Editing a Multi Tag widget

Below you can see the settings for this widget and, in the cards below, are images that each of these settings represents.

  • Trend/Plot

Editing a Plot Widget

Clicking on a tagname will bring up the scaling options for all tags in the plot.

With the Dashboard in Edit mode, several new options appear on the right side of the plot.

  • Delete Widget

  • Insert Plot - This will add a new set of trends above your current plot. The advantage of this option over a separate trend widget is that all plots in a single widget will be controlled simultaneously by the Zoom options and slid by dragging, to allow easier visual comparison of sets of data.

  • Delete Plot

Spacer Widget

Widgets will try to float to the top, so in order to create a layout like below

An extra "tagless" widget will need to be placed as a spacer

Gauge

Status Light

Text
