Edit Report

Last updated 1 year ago

When building, or editing, a report you will find several options as outlined below.

Adding / Removing Tags

To add tags, you will need Read access to a device in order to access its taglist in the navigation bar.

(This access is not the same as being able to view a site's Dashboard. If you are unable to access the tags you need, please reach out to your site admin, or use the LiveChat feature at the bottom right of InSite)

Report Name

This setting does affect the filename of the file received via email, as well as the name of the report on the previous screen. This name must be unique from any other report.

The Report's Trigger

There are several options to trigger a report. Select your options by clicking the dropdown under "Send Report".

Below are the options for a Scheduled report.

  • Ensure that the Report is Enabled

  • Select your day & time in the event

Select On Event in order to trigger a report from an alarm trigger.

Since Another Event

A triggered report can use another trigger as its starting time.

For example, if you have a system that cycles on/off then you can create a report to automatically run when the system turns off, and using a trigger when the system turned on, have the report automatically email you with data only from that time frame.

Be sure to set a Max Report Length, as a report that is too large may not run.

Fixed Time Length

A Fixed Time Length report will provide data for the selected timeframe before the triggering event. This is useful for troubleshooting the cause of frequent nuisance shutdowns to a system.

This is the minimum time required to pass before another automatically triggered report will be generated.

A Manual report is used to save a set of infrequently used data.

  • Data Interval: This is the length of time that each aggregation will use. (For example, if Average is chosen, then the report will provide the average value of each 5-minutes within the report timeframe.

  • Time Zone sets the local time used the reports timestamps. All data in the cloud is stored in UTC

  • Aggregations:

    • Average: Provides an average value for the selected Data Interval

    • Min: Provides the Minimum value that was recorded during the Data Interval

    • Max: Provides the Maximum value that was recorded during the Data Interval

Recipients

Report recipients can be added with the plus + symbal to the far right of the section.

To remove a Recipient, simply click the X icon on the recipients name.

This section is not available for the Manual report option.

Sharing Settings

You can share a report's settings with other people, so that they can review or make changes themselves.

Viewer: Can open the report's settings to view them

Admin: Able to make changes to the report's settings

When the + button is clicked, the below popup will appear.

A list of Users & User Groups will appear in the dropdown when clicked, but please note that this may not be a complete list of all users/groups.

When looking for a specific user/group, it is recommended to type some of their name. The list will filter based on the entered text.
